Switzerland is home to hundreds of years of cheesemaking traditions and about 450 varieties of cheese, most of which are made with cow’s milk. Just under half of the country’s total milk production is made into cheese, an understandable fact considering Switzerland’s cheeses’ high quality and great flavor have made them a favorite of many consumers.
